From renowned music festivals to mud racing, back country hiking, bird watching, berry picking, wood carving contests and volleyball tournaments. There is something for everyone in the family to enjoy in and around the Beaches of 59.

Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail

A non-profit organization that promotes and preserves the Brokenhead Wetland Ecological Reserve and educates the public about the importance of this rare and protected space to the Anishinaabe both historically and presently.

Manitoba has some of the best golf courses on the Prairies and the ones found along the Beaches of 59 are no exception. From mini golf for the family, to a full challenging 18 holes, you can find some of the most stunning landscapes that Manitoba has to offer and a golfing experience that is well worth the drive.

PETE’S GRAND PUTT

Pete’s Grand Putt will plan to work off a walk-up basis. It’s important to us that our establishment offers a price point that makes it accessible to all. Summer is an expensive time!

One round of mini golf will cost $7.00 (taxes included), children 4 and under can play at no charge. Merchandise will be updated in this section as it arrives, but know we will carry a line of “Pete’s Gear” to keep you looking sharp on the course.

Putter’s Dream Mini Golf

Putter’s Dream mini golf is located at Traverse Bay Corner next to the Esso. With 2 acres of mini golf to play and a variety of ice cream to enjoy they will be open all summer long.

Grand Pines Golf Course

Grand Pines Golf Club is just one hour north of Winnipeg on Highway 59. This championship course borders the Belair Provincial Forest in the heart of the lake country, minutes away from both Grand and Victoria Beaches.

ATV ADVENTURES

It’s just you, four wheels and endless riding possibilities. A Beaches of 59 quading experience can be anything from a leisurely family ride to an unforgettable journey into some of the most stunning scenery that Manitoba has to offer. This region is home to over 600 kms of some of the best ATV trails in Manitoba and Western Canada. The Belair Provincial Forest alone offers 25km self-guided trails to enjoy. Get your ride on! The Beaches of 59 area is home to the Belair ATV Club that manages over 200 kms of signed trails!

BIKING

Exhilarating road rides, cross country, winding forest trails; the Beaches of 59 has it all. With cycling routes for all tastes and skill levels, enjoy the vast forest trails, charming cottage country, beautiful beaches and local shops as you cycle through.

FISHING

Some of the best fishing in Manitoba can be found in and around the Beaches of 59. Walleye, Sauger, Small Mouth Bass, Silver Bass & Northern Pike are some of the species found in Lake Winnipeg, Traverse Bay and around the mouth of the Winnipeg River. Spend a casual day of family fishing along the shores and at the Victoria Beach Harbour, or chase that elusive Master Angler off-shore. The experience will be well worth it!

BIRD WATCHING

The Beaches of 59 offers an ideal environment for birdwatching or birding. The area offers a wide variety of birds such as waterfowl, Spruce Grouse, hawks, many other predatory birds and, of course, Manitoba’s provincial bird: the Great Grey Owl. Many bird sanctuaries can be found from Patricia Beach to Elk Island, boasting some of North America’s rare species. There is also a birding trail in Grand Beach (see page 12). So, whether you’re a professional ornithologist or just an admirer of bird species, we’ve got you covered.

GEOCACHING

Geocaching is a new twist on the old scavenger hunt game using modern technology in the form of GPS (global positioning system). Families, friends or individuals set up a “cache” and share waypoints (coordinates). People can then use these waypoints to locate the geocache and share their experiences online. Most geocaches are small waterproof containers with a logbook, while few might contain trinkets. The Beaches of 59 contain several geocaches and welcomes all geocachers to explore the natural beauty that the area has to offer.

Beaches Community Centre

Pickle ball is a year-round sport that has been the fastest growing sport in North America over the past few years. It is a paddle ball sport that combines elements from table tennis, badminton, and tennis. Two to four players are needed for the game and solid paddles are used with perforated balls with court dimensions and layout the same as a badminton court. With a net and rules very similar to tennis, it is fun for everyone regardless of your age or skill set. Pickle ball can be played indoors or out making it an excellent way to stay active and have a blast with your neighbours and friends at the same time. The Victoria Beach Community Center offers pickle ball all year round. What are you waiting for? Come out and play!

TENNIS

Tennis is one of the best total body workouts you can get. Whether singles or doubles is your preference, you can learn new skills or brush up on old ones with lessons available in our area. WATER SPORTS

Lake Winnipeg is one of the top spots for water sports. You can always find a spot on the lake for some tubing, knee boarding, wake boarding or water skiing. There is something new for everyone to try along the shoreline of the Beaches of 59. Lake Winnipeg makes water sports an ideal recreational pastime to enjoy! 

Snowmobiling

the winter there are amazing groomed Snoman Trails that people can enjoy! To travel these trials, by law you must have a valid SnoPass.

Victoria Beach Club

A group of first generation Victoria Beach cottagers assembled in the summer of 1921 and established the Victoria Beach Club. Organized and promoted as a means to pursue cultural, recreational and educational activities for the cottagers, the Victoria Beach Club prospered after building its clubhouse on the shores of the lake in 1925 and launching some of the annual events such as the Masquerade and annual Sports Day.
